Abstract

Six months into the Covid-19 pandemic, neither lives nor the economy have been saved. 38-year old Rafaela used to sell umbrellas on rainy days. Now the streets are empty. The emergency aid she receives will soon stop and she - like many other Brazilians - are left to wonder: When will this crisis end?
