Abstract
Japan plays a crucial role in supporting Indonesia and other emerging economies in Asia in their transition to net-zero carbon emissions. However, Japan’s approach remains largely top-down and project-driven and is often disconnected from the everyday realities of the people it aims to serve. We identify four actions that can help address this issue.
