    Abstract

When President Trump set his eyes on the Artic in
August 2019, he openly proposed swapping Puerto
Rico, a US dependency in the Caribbean, for
Greenland. While Trump’s proposal seemed absurd
to most Greenlanders, Puerto Ricans, Danes, and
Americans, comparing the constitutional status of
these non-sovereign dependencies might prove a
    more attractive proposition.
