Veronika Slakaityte’s research focuses on the dynamics of energy security, geopolitics, and climate policy. In particular, she is interested in the attainability of the Green Deal objectives amidst climate-energy crisis.

Current Research

Veronika Slakaityte is an Analyst specializing in the fields of energy security and geopolitics of energy, with a particular emphasis on EU energy and climate policy. Her research is primarily situated in the Baltic Sea region but also encompasses offshore wind projects in both the Baltic and North Seas, as well as the broader European energy landscape, including the Energy Community countries. Veronika's work includes the examination of national long-term energy strategies and countries' responses to evolving geopolitical dynamics.

Projects

Veronika Slakaityte works as an Analyst on the 'SECURITECH' project, funded by the Carlsberg Foundation and led by a Senior Researcher, Trine Villumsen Berling. Within this project, Veronika’s primary focus is an in-depth analysis of the Lithuanian LNG project development. Her research delves into the intricate dynamics between emerging energy infrastructure and the evolving shifts in security authority. The project also includes the exploration of Poland's nuclear power plant development, researched by Senior Researcher Izabela Surwillo, and an examination of the debates surrounding the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, led by Trine Villumsen Berling.
