Research areas

As director of DIIS Peter Kragelund's primary role is to develop and take care of the professional, administrative, financial and personnel management of DIIS. Furthermore, he represents the institute externally and ensure close interaction with the relevant authorities – including ministries, government, and parliament – and develop relationships with relevant research environments and institutions both at home and abroad. Peter works to ensure the national and international visibility of DIIS and its research.

Before joining DIIS Peter was Dean of Social Sciences at Roskilde University for nine years.

In his research career Peter has primarily focused on changes in the global economy and how it affects African countries. His research draws on international political economy approaches. Currently he's engaged in a large-scale research project on Everyday Humanitarianism in Tanzania with colleagues from University of Dar es Salaam, Copenhagen Business School and Roskilde University.
