    The burqa bans are superficial politics, as they focus on surface issues rather than the fundamental conflict between religious rights and gender equality in Denmark. Both on the superficial and fundamental levels, it is gender equality that emerges as the loser. (Internatoinal roundtable held on Zoom.)
