Gender, war, and militarization; the challenges for Ukraine

Description

This talk addresses how war and increased militarization impacts gender roles, women's participation in the military and workforce, and the challenges in the 'war after the war'. Drawing on analyses of patterns in other wars and speaking to the specific context of the war in Ukraine, I discuss central issues to be addressed within families, in terms of employment, societal infrastructure, and in the treatment of amputations, trauma and moral injury.
