Description

This talk shows how women providing local humanitarian care are made willful and their worlds violent by design. It tells the story of humanitarian design's omission of the risks of providing care, its submission of the priorities of their care, and its granting of permission to the afterlives of care. Telling this story valorises the women providing local humanitarian care, theorizes how they are made willful by design and calls attention to the import of different humanitarian designs.
