Conference: The EU's sanctions - The answer to today's geopolitical challenges?

As a result of Putin's invasion of Ukraine, the EU has introduced several sanctions against Russia. The EU's sanctions include the freezing of assets, financial sanctions, and trade restrictions on a wide range of products.

The many sanctions packages have shown an unprecedented common foreign policy footing in the West. However, the extensive and quickly introduced sanctions have also led to several legal and political challenges, both for governments and Danish and international companies with activities on the Russian market. In particular, the question of how one as a company navigates the existing and possibly future sanction packages has received a lot of attention, as has the question of whether the sanctions work at all as intended.

The Danish Association for European Law and Think Tank EUROPA, together with representatives of authorities, business leaders and leading researchers, will discuss the legal consequences of the EU's sanctions, their effect and what future sanctions will look like.
