Abstract

In this article I analyze Marit Benthe Norheim's work "Camping Women", which consists of five large sculptures built onto and into five camping trailers. Drawing on feminist philosophical discussions of sensuousness, the feminine, and ambiguity. I analyze the violence in the shadows of this work of art. The different pieces reveal multiple positions of women in relation to violence, including women as victims, agents, mourners, and as embodying institutional forms of violence.
