Forskningsområde

Luke Pateys nuværende forskning fokuserer på geoøkonomi og industriel konkurrenceevne inden for grønne og digitale teknologier. Han er forfatter til How China Loses: The Pushback Against China’s Global Ambitions (Oxford University Press, 2021) og The New Kings of Crude: China, India, and the Global Struggle for Oil in Sudan and South Sudan (Hurst, 2014). Patey har skrevet artikler i The Wire China, The New York Times, Financial Times, The Guardian, The Hindu, Foreign Affairs, og Foreign Policy. Han var tidligere Lead Senior Research Fellow ved Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, University of Oxford. Han har været gæsteforsker ved United Nations University (Tokyo), Social Science Research Council (New York), Peking University (Beijing) og Centre d'études et de recherches internationales (Paris). Patey har en ph.d. fra Copenhagen Business School.

Patey har en BSc (Hons.) i handel fra Queen's University (Kingston, Canada) og en cand.scient.- samt en ph.d.-grad fra Copenhagen Business School.
